Facebook is reportedly planning to rebrand the company by changing its name. The coming name change, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg plans to talk about at the company’s annual Connect conference on October 28th, but could unveil sooner, is meant to signal the tech giant’s ambition to be known for more than social media and all the ills that entail. The rebrand would likely position the blue Facebook app as one of many products under a parent company overseeing groups like Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and more. The rebranding would be for Facebook which currently serves as the parent company for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Oculus. With a new name for the company, the Facebook app would now fall under a new parent company. The rebranding is said to be in line with the company’s ambitions of being more than just a social media company. Facebook already offers one of the most popular social media apps including the leader in messaging apps, WhatsApp. Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg is expected to announce the name at the company’s Connect conference on 28th Oct 2021 . Facebook has been steadily laying the groundwork for a greater focus on the next generation of technology..
