India's 16th census will be digital, says Home ministry

The 16th Census of India will be conducted using the mobile phone app. It will be used to collect data by school teachers who will double up as enumerators during the Census exercise. The Home ministry also said that a Census portal has been developed. The Union Home Ministry today informed that India's upcoming 2021 Census will be the first-ever digital Census in the country and there is a provision for self-enumeration as well. So, India is going all digital where technology is playing an important role in shaping the new India.
