On August 13, 2003, the Assamese lost one of their guardian angels. Karmayogi Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia has been an immensely popular personality of Assam. A genius, with never ending creative ideas and a low profile lifestyle, constantly mingling with the people at the grassroots. For instance his presence is still alive every Assamese people. His contributions to the whole Assamese society will be remembered forever. Dr. Saikia has also put his hand and heart in the publication of few prestigious journals, the most popular “PRANTIK’’ is one with which he was associated from the very fast. With two very successful projects in Assam just before his death: the 'Kalakshetra' and the 'Aarohan', he had very ably demonstrated to the people of Assam how to preserve our rich culture and what we can do for our children in need.
