Assam Govt Hold Highway Speed Fines

In a meeting with the senior officials of Assam Transport Department, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) NHIDCL, PWD (Building & NH), Chief Minister Sarma said that till generating adequate awareness is very important among the people. Dr. Sarma said that till generating adequate awareness among the people, the penalties levied on violation of speed limits, should be put on hold. He also asked the department to give visible markings for the drivers to show the presence of roadside schools, hospitals and other establishments. Moreover, instructions were also given to put signages and speed breakers at the points of road junctions, traffic clamming areas etc.
