With the second-highest population, increasing urbanisation and added high risk for extreme events, India is in a vulnerable situation of facing disasters year after year. To address this issue, recently in a joint venture with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), IIT Roorkee has created an app that can predict natural disasters. The app will alert the probable natural calamities beforehand. It'll also intimate about the amount of rainfall that'll be received in every area so that we make arrangements beforehand. Earlier, IIT Roorkee developed the country's first earthquake early warning mobile application 'Uttarakhand Bhookamp Alert' . This app will send early warning messages to people before the earthquake. It will also help in tracking the location of people stuck during the earthquake and will send the alert to the authorities concerned.
