Ujjwala 2.0 , Modi government's revolutionary Vision for rural Women

From clean fuel and healthy cooking to women empowerment and increased productivity, Modi government’s Ujjwala scheme has truly been a game-changer for millions of women across India. Now, The beneficiaries of Ujjwala 2.0 will not only get deposit-free LPG connection but also free of cost first refill and hotplate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the second version of Ujjwala free cooking gas connection scheme along with “a free refill and a stove” on Aug 10 . Under Ujjwala 2.0, the Union government will distribute about 10 million gas connections this financial year to the poor along with a free refill and a stove. PMUY 2.0 was announced in the Union budget for financial year 2021-22. There was a provision for an additional 10 million LPG connections under the scheme. “These 10 million additional PMUY connections (under Ujjwala 2.0) aim to provide deposit-free LPG connections to those low-income families who could not be covered under the earlier phase of PMUY,". In this regard, the Prime Minister’s vision is revolutionary, and has helped to make women the leading force of our development trajectory.
