Ayaan Shankta, a 12-year-old environmental activist from India , has been awarded the 2021 International Young Eco-Hero in honour of his efforts to address difficult environmental challenges. Ayaan Shankta earned third place in the 8-14 age group for his project Conservation and Rehabilitation of Powai Lake. His project aims to raise awareness about pollution, clean up the lake, and protect its ecosystem. He is one of 25 young environmental activists worldwide named by Action For Nature (AFN) as a 2021 International Young Eco-Hero, an award given to eco-conscious kids aged 8 to 16 who are making critical efforts to tackle complex environmental challenges.
