Sarbananda Sonowal Files Nomination For Rajya Sabha Polls

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today filed nomination papers for the vacant Rajya Sabha seat from Assam. The former chief minister of the state was accompanied by current CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Atul Bora of Asom Gana Parishad and Pramod Boro of the United Peoples Party Liberal -- the latter two are presidents of parties in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Assam .The Rajya Sabha seat of Assam fell vacant after present Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary resigned after his victory in the last Assam Assembly polls (2021).
