Manipur : Kuki Association Calls 24-Hour Shutdown From September 27 !

The Kuki Chief Association (KSA) has called for 24-hour shutdown along the Moreh-Imphal highway commencing from September 27 midnight.This shutdown will be imposed in the entire Tengnoupal district. A release by KCA general secretary LS Seikhojang Baite contended that the bandh is in protest against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the government towards the district. The association said that though it is against the frequent transfers of deputy commissioners of the district it has no objection on assigning additional charge to incumbent DC Praveen Singh as the additional chief electoral officer. It also clarified that intention of the protest is not to inconvenience the public but to draw seriousness of the government towards the district.
