Now, The radical Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI), which has been in the radar of several central agencies amidst suspicion of funding various anti-national activities in India. After BJP MP Dilip Saikia, Now Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed the Popular Front of India (PFI) was involved in violence during an eviction drive in Darrang district which saw police firing on peasants claiming two lives, including a 12-year old boy, and left over 20 injured, and sought the organisation’s ban by the central government. He also Added that members of the Islamic outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) had visited a day ago the village where an eviction drive turned violent leading to death of at least two people in police firing. “There was an intelligence report that certain people collected ₹28 lakh during the last three months saying that there will be no eviction. When they couldn't resist eviction, they mobilised public and created havoc on that day,” the chief minister added. Meanwhile, The state government has sent a dossier to the centre seeking a total ban on the PFI and also doing whatever needs to be done against the islamic outfit. Already various national report said the PFI is backed by terrorist organisations and is running ‘schools’ to radicalise Muslim youths to carry out Jihad.
