EC announces by-poll schedule !

The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the by-polls to fill the vacant seats in the 30 Assembly Constituencies in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland among 10 other states and 3 Parliamentary constituencies. By-elections will be held in 5 assembly constituencies of Assam namely, 28-Gossaigaon, 41-Bhabanipur, 58-Tamulpur, 101- Mariani and 107-Thowra. Two of these constituencies are vacant due to the demise of the leaders who succumbed to COVID-19 or post infection complications, while others were necessitated as their MLAs resigned to join the BJP. Otherhand , The Lok Sabha by-polls will be held to one seat each in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Madhya Pradesh (Khandwa) and Himachal Pradesh (Mandi). Assembly bye-elections will be held at one constituency each in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Nagaland, and Telangana; two each in Karnataka, Bihar, and Rajasthan; three each in Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Madhya Pradesh; four in West Bengal; and five in Assam.
