Today, The Supreme Court rejected the bail plea of Delhi Sikh riots convict and former Congress leader Sajjan Kumar. A bench comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundresh dismissed the application noting that his medical condition is stable and is improving. "He is accused of heinous crimes. You want him to be treated like some super VIP patient," Justice Kaul asked Kumar's counsel Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar.In May 2020 also, Supreme Court had refused him interim bail, saying that there was no medical condition warranting the same.The 75-year-old former Congress leader was convicted in the brutal killing of five members of a family in Delhi's Raj Nagar, and setting a gurdwara on fire on November 1, 1984.
