War on drugs’ continues, heroin worth over Rs 17.5 crore seized at Jorabat !

The Assam police has tasted a major success in its crusade against drugs mafia in the state.A team of the East Guwahati Police District intercepted a vehicle at Jorabat, a search of which uncovered plastic 205 soap cases filled with Heroin weighing approximately 2.5 kgs. The consignment was hidden in the vehicle’s oil tank.Heroin consignment, carrying a market value of around Rs 17.5 crores, has been recovered and seized by the Assam police. The arrested persons have been identified as Dipak Sarma from Dimapur in Nagaland and Jamminlal from Manipur.Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanata Biswa Sarma took his Twitter and applauded the efforts of the Assam Police.
