Indian Railways connectivity in the Northeast gets a boost! The central government is giving special impetus to improve the connectivity in the Northeast and is trying to link all the state capitals by rail. After connectivity between Jiribam of Manipur and Silchar of Assam, the Construction of the railway network between Dimapur and Kohima (Dhansiri–Zubza rail line) is going at a fast pace. if all goes well then Kohima will be connected by rail after other stations ahead are linked batch-wise in 2022 and 2023. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort on India’s 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the capitals of India’s northeastern states will soon be connected by rail.
