Amazon, Flipkart slapped with notices for not showing 'country of origin'

 

 

The Indian government has issued notices to Amazon and Flipkart for not displaying the mandatory declarations, including 'country of origin', on specific products.

 

 

As per reports, the e-commerce giants have been given 15 days to give a response or else action will be initiated against them.

 

 

The letter sent to the firms had specific links to inventory, which lacked details required under the Legal Metrology rules.

 

 

It may be mentioned that the call for such norms gained momentum due to the recent India-China border tussle.
